The Western Forest Economists (WFE) is a non-profit group that welcomes membership from any interested party. For the last 50 years, we have meet each Spring for a three-day conference that focuses on forest economics. The conference is a great opportunity to discuss current research, issues, and trends. The WFE’s informal meeting format encourages discussion and interchange.
We’ve cancelled our in-person annual meeting for 2020, but still want to take care of WFE business, maintain our connections, and share our work and ideas.
Please join the WFE board on Tuesday, May 19th for a virtual WFE meeting.
The annual WFE meetings attract economists from industry, government agencies, and universities. We are especially interested in encouraging students to participate. The annual WFE meeting brings together scholars and professionals to discuss topics related to forests and natural resources in the west. The conference has typically included a mix of research presentations, perspectives from both private and public sector participants and, most importantly, treasured opportunities to network with likeminded professional and scholarly colleagues.
